A charming dry oak Gossip armchair by William Wheeler of Arncroah in Fife. Designed by Sir Robert Lorimer oak Gossip armchairs are relatively rare and are derived from a vernacular style of low chairs that were placed round the fire to avoid the smoke. They are equally comfortable for adults and children and Lorimer who se family home at Kellie was close to Arncroah frequently gave them as christening presents.
